flexPark - Parking & Vehicle Registration Module

The Parking & Vehicle Registration Module allows you to manage all major aspects of your parking operation on campus, including handheld devices and printers for parking enforcement staff, web entry for students, and administration applications. This software package is Adirondack Solutions' first system written entirely in Adobe Flex and ColdFusion, and is therefore platform-independent.

Desktop Features:

• Manage student parking permits
• Search for, edit, and delete existing tickets
• Add daily messages to send to officers' handhelds in the field
• Generate, print, and e-mail reports
• Rules Engine: Adirondack Solutions has developed a flexible application called the Rules Engine to automate many repetitive office activities. As an example, you can set up the Rules engine to search for anyone with an unpaid ticket, email all of these people a warning that they need to pay this ticket, generate emails to notify the bursar of these people, and download warnings onto the officer's hand held. You can schedule this activity to occur daily, hourly, once a week, whatever you decide. Once the Rule is defined, it takes care of everything automatically.
• E-mail Merge: Automatically generate bulk emails based on search criteria.
• Multiple Search Methods: From our Ticket Search screen, you can search for tickets by Last Name, license plate, or permit type. Our Query Panel contains dozens of reports, allowing you to search by vehicle model, ticket date, etc. If you require a report that doesn't exist in the product, the Query Panel's easy-to-use graphical interface allows you to create your own custom report.
• Future functionality: Print permits with barcodes, view pictures of incidents taken by officers in the field.
• Operating System independent: Our rich internet application runs on any operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc.)
• NO INSTALL: The installation of our software is handled automatically, meaning no one has to physically install the desktop software on the client machine. Any updates, changes, or additions to the desktop software are installed AUTOMATICALLY when the new code is placed on the server.

Hand-held Features:

• Daily Message feature: The application downloads messages from the main office; messages are user-defined and can have any content. Sample uses: “Watch for a red Datsun 240z, possible stolen vehicle”, “No tickets in Lot 80 today”.
• A single ticket can have multiple violations.
• Auto-Warn: Based on user-defined criteria, warnings can be automatically downloaded to an officer's hand-held unit. As an example, a user can set up a process that finds all vehicle owners with five or more unpaid tickets. If an officer encounters one of these vehicles and enters the permit number or license plate, the application automatically pops up a warning on the hand-held.
• Wireless printing: The hand-held unit connects to the printing unit via Bluetooth, a wireless protocol. This eliminates the need for cables or large, heavy, integrated hand-held units.
• Bar-code enabled.
• Ability to generate a warning rather than a ticket.
• Uploading all tickets from an officer's hand-held unit is as easy as pushing a button. No cradles, no “Hot-Sync's”. Head back to the office, push “Upload”, and you're finished.

Online Vehicle Registration (MyParking):

• Students, faculty, and staff can register a user-defined number of vehicles online, saving parking staff hours of work.
• Vehicle owners can view their ticket history online.
